One of my favourite activities to do to help my mental health is listen to music. Music is one of the most often thing I do during lock down because it helps me get a great vibe when I am doing my learning, sometime I listen to music so it can help me sleep. it feels so relief and more energetic. It is also enjoyable and calming. when I listen to music. I usually listen to music with earphones because I don't want to bother anyone.

Maui and the Ra

Hey guys today I am going to show tell you guys the story about Maui and the Ra or Maui and the sun, you might realise the maori words. That's because I made it more challenging for you guys to understand and to test how much you know about te reo Maori here is my writing

Once upon a time There lived a man call Maui and his 4 other Tuakāna, they lived In an

Iwi and they did everything together, But every day the Rā Seemed to make the daytime shorter.

Maui was so annoyed with the Rā. He wanted to Mau The Ra so that he was slower in daytime so he gathered his Tuākana and they planned to leave the village at sunrise to Mau the Rā. So Maui and his Tuākana got some flax to use when they were going to Mau the Rā.

Early in the morning Maui and his tuākana took off to where the Rā always rose from with their flax ropes . Soon they realized the pūmāhu was getting warmer, after they saw the Rā getting ready to rise so they built a wall of pōhatu then got into position.

The Ra rose and rose, everything got Hotter and hotter. Maui pulled out his hook (jaw of his tupuna tāne) and he told his Tuākana to throw out the flax ropes to stop the Rā from escaping. Maui stood on the wall of pōhatu, he raised his hook, he smacked the Rā on the ihu. He smacked him again then shouted “You gonna slow down from now on?” The Rā cried and shouted “YES! Now let me go my ihu hurts” Maui and his Tuākana didn’t let him go because they didn't trust the Rā so they used the flax ropes to drag him to the village.

The Rā never went fast ever again and from that day he was giving Maui and his tuākana enough daytime.

The end

Thank you for reading my blogpost I hope you enjoyed and Stay safe. Bye.

Cool facts about the Akita

 Kia ora Bloggers,

Today I am going to tell you guys what the Akita dog breed is and I hope you enjoy.

The Akita is a dog breed with 2 types of Akita's, the first one is the normal Akita inu or the Japanese Akita and the American Akita.

the difference between the cousins is that The american Akita is a larger breed then it’s cousin the Akita inu  and also the American Akita is a Dog has loose skin and it is more bulky then the Akita inu and their eye shape is different. To describe The akita in many words here are words I would describe it with, Strong, calm, humble, Obedient, Huge, Hairy,  Rare, Loyal, Intelligent,

Faithful, stubborn, Quite, silly, independent and hardwired.

The Akita cousins come in different colours, here is a list of their coat colours.

Akita inu: brindle, silver brindle, black brindle, red & silver brindle, red, golden and white.

American Akita: Red/brown, Fawn, black brindle, red brindle, silver, fawn brindle.

My favourite one is the silver American Akita.

The Akita has 2 types of coats, The Akita Sheds the undercoat (blow-coat) every year and twice a year times a year which makes a huge mess.

The dogs with double coats shed or blow their coat because in the summertime it is really hot for them if their under coat stays on but their hair grows back before winter.

The Akita has Lot of hair, which means some American Akita are called long coat American Akita. The long coat American Akita has really long hair, it looks like it is covering its eyes and the tail has the most hair. It looks like this,

The Akita's personality is different from other dogs, The Akita Are quiet dogs which means they don’t usually bark like other dogs. They share their silliness and they are always funny to their family and friends. The Akita are also protective with their loved ones, they are Independent-thinking dogs and are really intelligent and smart.

The Akita are bulky dogs, that means they fear nothing and they are really brave, they are also overprotective. They are sometimes aggressive especially when they are in a fight with other dogs.

The best two facts I love about the Akita is that  the Akita are just like Huskies, they are really strong and used for snow work, also Akita are known for their really HUGE size, people fear their size alone because their size is unbelievable.

Olympics Fan Zone Trip

 Hi bloggers!

Today my class and I went to the Olympics fan zone for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. We had so much fun and we enjoyed it, when we entered the building we went then we met one of the Olympians that competed in the Olympics in 2007/2008 for New Zealand in Triathlon. Her name was Debbie Tanner, we asked her some questions and some of them were really interesting.

Debbie Tanner said she didn't expect to compete in Triathlon but she said she really loved the sport because it was made of 3 other sports, it was swimming, running, and cycling. Her favourite one was running because when she ran she would run through forests, beaches and many other places.

After we got to get free time with the games in the building. one of my favourite games was playing on the basketball machine. after we went to the other side of the building then we had more fun there. We had challenges relay races and many more.

At the end we watched the men's rowing game, The best thing was that NEW ZEALAND CAME SECOND!!  I didn't believe it because the beginning was pretty sketchy. After that we came back to school.

Something I enjoyed was playing on the basketball machine because it was fun and my buddy was surprised when we got to stage 2 of the game.

Something I learnt at the Olympic fan zone was that it is very hard to be an Olympian because you have to stay healthy and fit for the game and you will have to stay on a balanced diet.

Here are some pictures of when we were on the trip.
